Do all UAE residents need to buy a Thai e-visa?
No. Check the passport, travel purpose and permitted stay before applying. The Dubai consulate’s revised chart, effective 15 September 2026, lists ordinary UAE passport holders under the 30-day visa-exemption scheme. A UAE residence permit does not turn another nationality’s passport into a UAE passport. Residents with other passports must check their own category rather than copy an Emirati traveller’s allowance. Visa exemption, visa on arrival and a pre-arranged e-visa are different entry routes; the online application steps below apply when an e-visa is required.

Can I apply through Dubai after I have left the UAE?
Do not assume that online submission means you can apply from anywhere. The Dubai consulate says applications submitted while the applicant is in Thailand or another country outside the UAE will be rejected. It also warns that submitted details cannot be amended by the consulate and visa fees are non-refundable. Confirm your current-location eligibility and check the passport details before submission and payment. Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card a visa, and do children need one?
No. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) records arrival information; it does not replace a required visa. Submission through the official Immigration Bureau portal is free. Complete it no more than three days before arrival. Children and infants need their own traveller records, which an adult can submit. Visa-exempt visitors still need the card; passengers transiting without passing immigration do not.
Prepare the arrival transport, Thai accommodation address and passport details, then save the confirmation. If travel details change, use the official update instructions before entry; where a field cannot be amended, follow the guidance to submit a new form.
